Ya’ll, it has been one of those weeks. What about you?
No matter how much I planned, how much I prepared, how patient I was, or how much I tried to just “go with the flow,” everything I touched went to mush. I can’t seem to say the right things, explain things the right way, or do what was needed the right way.
In Luke 9:13, Jesus commanded His disciples, “Give them something to eat.” It had been a long week! Jesus had been healing people all around the town, expelling demons, calming storms, and teaching his followers. He retreated to Bethsaida for some peace and quiet but the crowds found Him and they were hungry! After the week they had, Jesus still gently instructed the disciples to give the crowd something to eat. It is such a simple command but so hard to do when you are emotionally and physically spent.
However, the Disciples’ response was, “Send them away, Lord. Let them get their own food. But, Jesus, we only have 5 loaves and 2 fish.”
In this week’s podcast, I honestly explore what to do when our response is:
“But Lord, I don’t even have 5 loaves and 2 fishes. All I’ve got left in me are some bread crumbs and few fish heads”! And we will explore the Lord’s response to the disciplines and to us: “Just bring me what you have and I will do the rest.”
- What are you 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes?
- What are your bread crumbs and fish heads?
- How can we use little to reap great rewards in God’s kingdom?
Even if you don’t have much to offer right now, God wants us to bring whatever we have to Him.
