In Lewis Carroll’s classic, Alice in Wonderland, Alice stopped to ask the Cheshire Cat for directions.
"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
The Cat responded, “Well, that depends a good deal on where you want to get to!”
Alice answered, “I don’t really care where I’m going.”
“Then it doesn’t really matter which way you go, does it?” answered the Cat.
The Cheshire Cat’s response summarizes why it is important to start this homeschool journey with the end in mind. If we know where we want our children to be at the end of their formal education, then it will be easier to plan the journey.
On this homeschooling adventure, if we do not have an end destination in mind, there is a good possibility our children will end up in the wrong place when the journey is over.
