If you have some of these fears, then this book is for you!
Whether you are new to homeschooling or you have been homeschooling for years, you will find A Home Education Handbook: Nine Questions to Ask for Simple & Balanced Home-Based Learning refreshing, encouraging, and extremely helpful.
Carrie De Francisco's new book is a transformative guide for homeschool parents. Designed to streamline homeschooling, this book equips moms to craft meaningful, stress-free days filled with rich educational experiences, ensuring every day is a great homeschool day. This book will help you shift your mindset from doing "school at home" to embracing a true home education experience.
This book will help you transform your overwhelming daily academic "To Do List" or weekly "Lesson Plans" into an easy, manageable, and meaningful checklist.
This accessible guide will empower parents to create the home education environment they’ve always envisioned.
Part One: Common Concerns
The first section addresses some of the most common questions critics ask and several of the most common fears home educators have such as "Is my child doing enough?"
Part Two: Today, Did We...? Checklist
The second section offers nine powerful questions to reflect on daily or while planning weekly lessons. If a mom can answer "yes" to each, she can feel confident her children are learning, growing, and thriving. It is a guide to nurturing a well-rounded home education, blending rest, worship, reading, writing, care for home and others, problem-solving, movement, creativity, and nature exploration.

Join me in this "Today, Did We....?" Series. I expound on each chapter as I share recommendations for curriculum and resources you can use to teach each academic area using both traditional and unconventional methods. Moms, you really are doing enough!

“When Carrie asked me to read A Home Education Handbook, I was thrilled. Carrie is one of those wise and witty homeschooling moms who discovered freedom long ago and just wants to share that freedom with others. I had a feeling this book would contain nuggets of gold to help new, struggling, and seasoned homeschooling mamas discover that same freedom. To help them discover joy. To help them eliminate anxiety, overwhelm, and stress. I was right. This book is the book I wish I had read right from the beginning. The one that would have given me permission to homeschool the way that felt natural. It would have given me peace of mind. It would have given me vision and clarity. It would have saved me (and those little guinea pig first kiddos) a lot of trouble and tears."

I absolutely LOVED reading this book! I found myself grudgingly putting it down, and eagerly picking it back up again. I enjoyed the conversational style that made me feel like I was talking to a really good friend who'd been there through the good and the bad, and just pouring her heart into me with encouragement. Carrie's book is the comforting and encouraging book that I wish existed since the beginning of our homeschool journey. Quite honestly, I can confidently say that I recommend this book to every homeschooler I meet. Really, I believe that EVERY parent or caregiver should take the time to read this book - whether they are contemplating homeschooling, just starting out, deep in the trenches, or just want a little info. Carrie shares some amazing ideas that I plan to incorporate into our family lifestyle that can be readily used by any family. I love it! Definitely worth the investment of your time and money. I'm working through my second read-through right now! Absolutely five stars!

This book is a wonderful balance of wisdom, ideas, and "soul food". It gives excellent ideas for removing the struggle of homeschooling, and replacing it with actual real life learning and things kids actually want to do. I love all of the ideas, and it is written like a dear friend is speaking to your heart. But I have to say, my favorite part is Chapter 12 and the balance of being a homemaker and a home educator, and how to get it all done. This book is just what my heart needed in this season of homeschooling, but I highly recommend it for new homeschoolers, as well as those like me who have a few years of experience. I gained something from every chapter, and was able to begin implementing the ideas immediately. Such a great, well written book! ~Megan A

This book is a resource that I would recommend to anyone involved in home education. For parents interested in starting their home education journey, this guide presents home education in an approachable manner. For those who are further along on their journeys, this book may serve as a source of encouragement. It presents home education as a paradigm shift away from trying to replicate school at home to cultivating a lifestyle of multifaceted education. This approach to education simultaneously simplifies and adds depth to learning. Lessons in this book can be implemented across a variety of homeschooling methodologies.
I think anybody involved in raising children that has a genuine interest in their education could benefit from this book. Education is not only about academics.
In a world where it is so easy to fall into comparison traps, this book gives guidance on what the truly important aspects of home education are. ~ LW

This is a great addition to your homeschooling journey. All the doubts you might have had can be thrown away. This book will give you the confidence you need to educate your children at home. You have been given the greatest to gift to be your children's teacher. Carrie writes, "Presently, you are teaching your child about the love of God and the saving grace of Jesus Christ. You are already your child's most important and influential teacher."
Her other books are just as good and are a complete set for any homeschooling family! ~ Virginia

If you're considering homeschooling or are already homeschooling, you NEED this book! It truly is your handbook for a wonderful homeschool life. I only wish I had it when I started my homeschooling journey 3 years ago. Carrie challenges the "do it all" approach so many of us take on and gives a more practical approach to what REALLY matters. By asking, "Today did we...?", we can know with confidence that we are putting our energy and focus into the things we need to. Stop trying to do it all. Since reading this book, I've been more relaxed and confident with homeschooling without spinning in a hamster wheel trying to do "everything". This is a much more purposeful approach!

This is an encouraging book for both new and more experienced homeschoolers. Carrie brings us back to the basics of what is truly important and helps us tackle each area with insight and practical advice. Carrie reminds us of the freedom and flexibility we can experience as we let go of the curriculum to-do lists and focus more on our children and God's unique plan for each of them. This book is an easy and helpful read that brings hope for a more simple, joyful, and peaceful homeschool experience. ~ Stephanie
This book was such an encouraging read!
We have been homeschooling for six years and I feel like I have read and researched everything I can get my hands on about teaching my children at home. I went into reading this book a little skeptically, thinking what new things could there possibly be for me to learn?
Boy was I wrong!!! This book is a gem.
An easy-to-read gem. Even for mamas who have no time to sit down and read -ahem- this book is the one to read. I felt so encouraged as I poured over its pages. Carrie has a gentle way of teaching me and showing me what to do and how it all points back to the Lord.
My favorite chapter by far was the chapter on writing. She went through pretty much every subject and outlines a very do-able practice to include writing and making meaningful learning experiences out of what we are already doing. She also gives great tips on how to include study and documenting learning in subjects like Artist study which can often be difficult to incorporate.
Her ideas on reading journals, nature notebooks, history study (I love these ideas!) even math- so many ways to get excited about what we are doing and how to easily incorporate them.
I never felt overwhelmed or like, “oh no, I’m doing something all wrong- now I have to do this…”
Instead you felt encouraged, uplifted and like Carrie was cheering me on like she was sitting there next to me on the couch.
A book to read and re-read.
